On 25 October 2023, the Queensland Government passed the Property Law Bill 2023 – which replaces the Property Law Act 1974.

This Bill introduces a raft of changes to that will impact property transactions in Queensland, including the sale and leasing of residential and commercial property. This includes introducing a mandatory seller’s disclosure regime in Queensland, changes to contracts for sale and settlement processes, and changes to commercial leasing. 

The REIQ has released comprehensive factsheets for members via the membership portal and is hosting a live ‘Q and A’ webinar on Friday 3 November 2023 to answer all of your questions about the new laws.
