During her swimming career, Libby collected 24 gold medals across Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championship events. After leaving competitive swimming, she faced a period of massive change and dabbled in several roles before turning her focus to pursuing work and advocacy in mental health.

Speakers:

          Libby Trickett

Former Australian Swimmer Libby Trickett collected 24 gold medals on the international stage across Olympic, Commonwealth Games and World Championships events. This included eight long course and seven short course world titles, five Commonwealth Games and four Olympic gold medals which were won at three consecutive Olympic Games. Since retiring Libby has dabbled in TV, a sales and marketing role for a technology company and worked as a radio announcer for Triple M in Brisbane.  She has now turned her focus to pursuing her work in mental health.  Libby put her studying for a Bachelor of Counselling on hold while she is busy taking care of her four young children. 

         Jason Dasey

Jason Dasey is an award-winning TV and radio broadcaster. A former sports presenter with CNN and BBC, Jason also spent two decades in Asia as a sports host for ESPN and Astro, on major events like Grand Slam tennis, Premier League football, and Indian Premier League cricket.

 Now based in Queensland, Jason can be heard as a radio host on 4BC Brisbane and TV presenter for the APAC Weekly show on SBS.

 

Charity Information:

Livewire is Starlight's dedicated program for teenagers living with a serious illness, disability or chronic health condition.

Through Livewire, young people (aged 12 - 20) connect with others who understand what they are going through helping them cope with the stress, anxiety and isolation of hospital and serious illness.
